Frank R. Furno, Jr.

Frank R. Furno, Jr., 70, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at his residence.

He was born May 25, 1946 in Meadville, a son of Frank and Angeline Simonette Furno.  He married his wife Marilyn, October 2, 1998 and she survives.

Frank was a 1964 graduate of Meadville High School, attended Youngstown State University, and served in the U.S. National Guard.

An accomplished musician, at age 13 Frank taught himself to play the guitar and his band played at various venues around Conneaut Lake.  In the early 1970s, for several years Frank was on tour with Mitch Ryder and toured all over the United States.  He then worked for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad for several years, Talon, and subsequently joined Bud Miller Ford (now Lakeview Ford) in Conneaut Lake where he worked for 26 years as the sales manager.

Frank attended High Street Community Church.  He loved football and was an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State University fan.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Marilyn, include two daughters, Tiffany Lunn and her husband Tyler of San Diego, CA and Shannon Longo and her husband John of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Danielle, Brianna, and Nick Longo and Sophie Lunn; three sisters, June Furno of Meadville, Martha Dixon and her husband Bill of New Kensington, and Christy Brunetti and her husband Bill of New Kensington; a brother, Dominic Furno and his wife Irene of Meadville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Tina Thompson.

Calling hours will be Friday, May 5th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at WAID-COLEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 12422 CONNEAUT LAKE RD., CONNEAUT LAKE.

The funeral service will be Saturday, May 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. William Rogers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Rd. or to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., both of Meadville, PA 16335.
