Frank R. Lojek, 71, of Guys Mills, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at the Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in Guys Mills, December 13, 1938 a son of Stephen and Helena Kottermanski Lojek. He married Beverly J. Smith April 21, 1962 and she preceded him in death August 23, 2001.
He was a member of Carpenters Local #268, Sharon, PA and worked throughout the area for 40 years. He served in the US Army from 1956 - 1958. He was a member of Crawford Masonic Lodge #234 and several other fraternal and social clubs in the area. He enjoyed having a good beer with friends and family. He also enjoyed fishing, boating, woodworking and since 2001 spending the winters in Edgewater, FL.
Survivors, include: two daughters, Shelly Hyldahl and her companion Ronald Sutter of Guys Mills and Tracey Echols and her husband Dennis of Townville; thirteen brothers and sisters, Stanley Lojek and his wife Gunba of Ohio, Chester Lojek and his wife Aija of Ohio, Dolly Werner and her husband Dan of Conneaut Lake, Steve Lojek of Butler, Anna Mae Krouse and her husband Jim of Meadville, Dorothy Caneer of Meadville, Joe Lojek of Arizona, Eugene Lojek of Cambridge Springs, Patricia Maillard and her husband Chuck of Conneaut Lake, Jack Lojek and his companion Tia of Meadville, Diane Ross and her husband Frank of Arizona, Ronald Lojek and his wife Colleen of Cochranton and Sandy Wilcoxson of Arizona; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Hyldahl, Sarirose Hyldahl and her companion Greg Medlen and Alivia Hyldahl and her companion Luke Wellmon; four step-grandchildren, Brandon Sutter, Liz Reynolds, Jessica Sutter and Nichelle Echols; 37 nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and grand nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margie Lojek and Shirley Lippert and a brother, John Kottermanski.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.
The funeral and committal service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Glen Van Cise, Pastor of Chapmanville Community Church, officiating. Military honors will be provided by Harm Jan Huidekoper VFW Post #2006.
Interment will be in Radle Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Yolanda G. Barco Oncology Institute, 16792 Conneaut Lake Road, Meadville, PA 16335.
