Frank Semerad, Jr.

Frank Semerad, Jr. 84, was a former auto and mower repairman for Krasa Service Station, retiring in 1971.

He previously was employed with Montour Railroad of Pittsburgh for 22 years.  He had played semi-pro baseball in Pittsburgh as a pitcher.  He was a team manager and officer for Vernon Little League for 12 years.

Semerad, of Meadville, died Saturday, May 14, 1994, at United Community Hospital in Grove City, after a brief illness.

He was born in Groveton, May 30, 1909, a son of Frank and Louise Semerad, Sr.  He married Alice Krasa, December 3, 1932.  She preceded him in death February 23, 1991.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Dorothy) Smith of Naperville, IL and Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Findlay of Avon Lakes, OH; four sons, Frank, III, James, William and Robert Semerad, all of Meadville; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Sedlock of Florida and Mary Foster of North Carolina; and a brother, Stanley Semerad of Pittsburgh.

In addition to her wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Pry and Grace Semerad and two brothers, John Semerad and Joseph Semerad.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
