Frank W. Chismar

Frank W. Chismar, 86, of Blooming Valley, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999 at Meadville Medical Center following a period of declining health.

He was born in Greensburg, PA, February 21, 1913, a son of Frank and Emma Yochman Chismar.  He married Neva Cousins August 16, 1938.  She survives.

He attended Blooming Valley schools before entering the apprentice program with the railroad.  He retired in 1977 as a machinist with Conrail after 40 years of service.  For a brief period he also worked at Westinghouse.  He was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a son, Frank Chismar (Donna) of Stow, OH; two daughters, Neva Long of Houston, TX and Kathy Chismar of Morgantown, WV; three brothers, Andrew Chismar of Fort Collins, CO, John Chismar of Anderson, IN and Kenneth Chismar of Blooming Valley; a sister, Hilda Bollis of Vero Beach, FL; four grandsons, Frank, John, Gregory and Douglas Chismar; a granddaughter, Jessica Eldred; a step granddaughter, Michele Widdowson; seven great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Edward Chismar and a sister Ethel McNutt.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
