Frank Walton

Frank Walton, 82, formerly of Guys Mills and a current resident of Cambridge Springs, died Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at his residence.

He was born January 5, 1929 in Meadville, a son of Donald and Ruby Handley Walton.  He married Anna Frey September 23, 1950 and she preceded him in death April 29, 2000.

Frank was a 1947 graduate of Randolph High School.  He worked at Channellock for 43 years, retiring in 1991 as assistant foreman of the forge shop.

A former member of Calvary Baptist Church, Meadville where he was the treasurer for 20 years, he was a current member of Carmel Baptist Church, Moisertown.  He was also a member of the Townville Senior Center.

Frank loved the Lord and was trusting in Jesus Christ as his Savior. During his retirement, he enjoyed winter retreats to Newport, NC where he volunteered to assemble the Books of John and Romans for the Grace Baptist Church missionary outreach.  He loved his family very much, enjoyed traveling and gardening, and working with blue birds.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Lewis and her husband Eric of Cambridge Springs and Julie Medved and her husband Tom of Saegertown; three grandchildren, Shannon Miller, Michala Medved, and Ryan Medved; a great-grandson, Christian Muckinhaupt; and two brothers, Arthur Walton and his wife Kathy of Taylor, SC and Jack Walton and his wife Barbara of Beaufort, NC.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral and committal service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Sherman Skeens, Pastor of Carmel Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
