Franklin (Frank) L. Koteles, 79, of Conneaut Lake, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Regency Care Center, Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
He was born April 13, 1936 in West Brownsville, a son of Louis and Ann Nemetz Koteles. He married Marlene Evank January 14, 1961 and she survives.
Frank was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he received an associate degree in criminology and was a 1958 graduate of the Pennsylvania State Policy Academy in Hershey. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1959 to 1962.
Frank retired from the Pennsylvania State Police as a trooper in 1988 following 30 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, 48 Swanson Memorial Lodge, Erie.
Frank was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church, Conneaut Lake. He enjoyed golfing, yardwork, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Marlene of 54 years, include two sons, David Koteles and his wife Kimberly of Hummelstown and Scott Koteles and his wife Kelly of Tucson, AZ; two daughters, Kimberly McNinch and her husband Rodney of Columbus, OH and Cheryl Fatica and her husband David of Parma, OH; ten grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Hope of Syracuse, NY; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rachel Koteles.
Calling hour will be Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 S. Ninth St., Conneaut Lake where a memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Jeffrey Lucas as Celebrant.
Inurnment will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery with military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006, Meadville and the Pennsylvania State Police.
