Fred A. Adams, Sr., 89 of Fredonia, formerly of Sharon and Jackson Center, passed away on December 22, 2023 at Greystone Country Estates, Fredonia. Fred was born in Mercer on August 29, 1934 to the late Milton and Hazel (Perrine) Adams. He attended Stoneboro High School and went on to work at Sharon Steel Company as a Furnace Operator, retiring after 38 years in 1989. He loved his job and just enjoyed working.
Fred was a member of Beth Emmanuel Fellowship Church of Sharon and enjoyed being an active member and helping anywhere he could. He loved auto racing and going to races with his sons. He also enjoyed going to high school football and basketball games. He loved going to the Juniper House to sing karaoke. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather who always loved camping, traveling, and train rides with his family.
Fred married his beloved wife, Mildred V. (Weaver) Adams on March 21, 1953. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2013.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Ruth (Rev. Edward) Dailey of Sharpsville; Fred Adams, Jr. of Mercer; Jeffrey (Lorraine) Adams of Hubbard, OH; Scott Adams of Fredonia; and Tammy (Ron) Fisher of Jackson Center, 10 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Fred was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter: Kaleigh, and his siblings: Milton; Glenn; and Floyd Adams, and Dorothy Rabold; Elizabeth McCoy; and Arlene “Renee” Swartzbeck.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin street, Stoneboro, where visitation will be from 4 pm – 6 pm on Wednesday, December 27. A funeral service will follow visitation at 6 pm with the Rev. Edward Dailey, Fred’s son-in-law, officiating.
Interment will take place in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Twp.
