Fred B. Trace, Jr.

Fred B. Trace, Jr., 87, a long-time resident of Juniper Village and more recently a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community died Friday, April 13, 2018 at Butler Memorial Hospital, Butler, PA.

Fred was born August 14, 1930 in Tarentum, PA a son of Fred B. and Marian Johnston Trace, Sr.  He married Marian Pardee November 22, 1977 and she preceded him in death January 5, 2016.

He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army from January 1952 – December 1953.  Following his military service he attended and graduated in 1956 from the University of Missouri with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.  He worked for PPG Co in Ford City, PA and St. Louis, MO.  He then worked for McDonnell Aircraft Co. in St. Louis in the personnel department of the engineering division retiring in 1972.

He was an Eagle Scout at the age of 14; at the time, he was the youngest Eagle Scout in Missouri.  He was a member of the Eat & Travel Club and enjoyed gardening, growing sunflowers, spending time at Pymatuming Lake and reading.

He is survived by four children, Fred B. Trace III, Renee Lewis, Jim Trace and John Trace; two granddaughters; five step children, Susan Pusbach, Nancy McWilliams, Linda Reagle, Daniel Pusbach and Carol Mascitti, six step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James J. Trace and an infant brother, Robert Trace.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, April 17th from 12-2 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Brumagin, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
