Fred L. Rundell

Fred L. Rundell, 90, of Meadville, died Saturday, April 18, 1981, at United Methodist Hospital, where he had been a patient for six weeks, after a brief illness.

He was born in Guys Mills, December 23, 1890, a son of Bert and Ina Fields Rundell.  He married Emma Eckert on November 12, 1912.  She died September 9, 1975.

He retired after nearly 60 years of service as caretaker for the Lewis Walker family of Meadville.

He was a member of Park Congregational Church.  He also was a member of Masonic Lodge 408, Meadville; and Scottish Rite Bodies of Erie.

He formerly was a member of Cussewago Odd Fellows Lodge 108; Meadville Aerie 429; Dick Hose Volunteer Fire Department; Northwest PA Firemen's Assn.; and Crawford County Fireman's Assn. and Crawford County Firemen's Assn.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Madeline Brown of Phoenix; two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Cadwell of Hemet, CA and Mrs. Theresa Schmeltzer of Erie; two brothers, Albert of Saegertown and Ernest of Panama, NY; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
