Fred Neff, 60, of Meadville, was dead on arrival at City Hospital Thursday afternoon, October 3, 1968, following a stroke suffered at his home.
He was born in Fayette County on March 17, 1908, a son of William and Anna Miller Neff. He was married to the former Autumn Jones.
Mr. Neff was employed for the past 31 years in the powerhouse of American Viscose Division of FMC Corp. and for the past 15 years was a school bus driver for Randolph East Mead Schools. He was previously employed as a bus driver with Greyhound Lines for nine years.
He was a member of Wayland Baptist Church and East Mead Volunteer Fire Department.
Survivors, besides his widow, are three daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Dorothy) Arbanas of Longmont, CO, Mrs. Alfred (Catherine) Castile of Meadville and Mrs. Keith (Margaret) Hough of Meadville; a son, Frederick Neff with the US Army at Fort Polk, LA; two sisters, Mrs. Merle (Beulah) Burgess and Mrs. Ira (Adeline) Clevenger, both of Cochranton; two brothers, James and William, also of Cochranton and nine grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Kiser Hill Cemetery.
