Fred P. Kebert, 92, a resident of Beverly Healthcare, Meadville and formerly of Liberty St., Meadville and Cordia Commons, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at his residence.
He was born April 6, 1912 in Union Township, a son of the late Frederick P. and Adeline B. Hart Kebert, Sr. He married Edna M. Lake August 16, 1936 and she preceded him in death May 25, 1995.
He was a Union Pipe Fitter for 33 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Union Local #120, Cleveland, OH (The Plumbers, Pipe Fitters, and Sprinkler Fitters Union). He was a member of Meadville Masonic Lodge #408; West Mead #2 Volunteer Fire Dept.; Meadville Eagles Club #429; and a social member of the VFW Post #2006. A very generous person, he enjoyed automotive and engine repair work for family and friends.
He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church.
Survivors include 3 grandchildren, Richard Kebert and his wife Betty of Meadville; James Kebert and his wife Nancy of Phoenix, AZ; and Robert Kebert of Meadville; a daughter-in-law, Marlene Miller and her husband Edward of Meadville; 3 sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Livsey of Meadville; Sarah Spayde of Meadville and Margaret “Peggy” McGill of Meadville; a sister-in-law, Martha Kebert of Meadville; 5 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Elyse, Cathleen, Robert, and Patrick Kebert; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Kebert; 2 sisters, Genevieve Shafer and Luella Herrington; and a brother, Albert Kebert.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m.
A funeral service will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. William L. Brown, Associate Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
