Frederic W. (Fred) Haynes, 71, of Richmond Township, well-known area farmer and musician, died Sunday, July 6, 1980, at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, after an extended illness.
He was born in Richmond Township, July 9, 1908, son of George F. and Maude Delamater Haynes. He married Evelyn Hartley in 1935.
Haynes was a farmer and wool grower in Richmond Township. He was a musician and music teacher. He was a musician and music teacher. He was a member of Lyona Community Church. Past president of the NWPA Sheep and Wool Growers Assn., he had been named honorary director of the association. For 41 years, he had served as deputy game warden for the PA Game Commission.
For 55 years, he was a member of Meadville Musical Society Local 344, and for many years he had played at Crawford County Fair with his orchestra.
Survivors include his wife and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Lyona Cemetery.
