Frederick B. Yost, 97, United Methodist Nursing Hospital since 1980, died Thursday, March 1, 1984, at the hospital, after an extended illness.
He was born at Saegertown, June 16, 1886, a son of Charles W. and Villa Brookhouser Yost.
Mr. Yost married Bess Dickson, March 29, 1911, who preceded her in death March 25, 1962.
He was self-employed as a stylist of women's clothes from 1906 to 1976. He was a member of Christ Church Episcopal and was a vestryman, a church choir member and had directed to boy's choir for several years. He had been a delegate for 25 years to the Dioscesian convention. He was a founder and charter member of Meadville Fine Arts Assn., Crawford County Masonic Lodge 234 and served as a representative from northwestern PA to the Metropolitan Opera for 50 years.
Survivors include a son, F. Maurice Yost of Philadelphia; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Saegertown Cemetery.
