Frederick William Burton, 70, a resident of Wesbury since October 1996 and formerly of Buffalo, NY, died Thursday, July 30, 1998 at Wesbury following a period of declining health.
He was born August 29, 1927 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late William A. and Ethel Rischmiller Burton.
Mr. Burton was a 1946 graduate of Lafayette High School, Buffalo and 1965 graduate of the University of Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He was a US Army veteran having served from 1946 to 1947. He retired in 1986 as an analytical chemist at Bristol-Myers-Squibb pharmaceutical company in Buffalo following 20 years of service. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed carpentry and music.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Wilson (Florence) Barker of Saegertown and four nieces and four nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Alan Burton.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
