G. Bruce Bradshaw

G. Bruce Bradshaw, 88, of Meadville died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

He was born February 22, 1928 in Meadville a son of Clyde and Elizabeth Lemon Bradshaw.  He married Anna Mae Waid August 12, 1948 and she preceded him in death June 14, 2014.

He was a 1946 graduate of Meadville High School and worked for Alltel Inc. and its predecessor, The Meadville Phone Co. for 42 years.  He started in 1945 as an installer-repairman and throughout his career held positions of junior central office manager, working foreman and plant-supervisor-construction retiring in 1987.

He was an active member and former choir member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church.  He was very involved in the renovation and additional construction at the church in 1999-2000.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge #408, New Castle Consistory, Scottish Rite Bodies and a former member of the Kismet Grotto.  He loved riding horses, enjoyed music, playing golf and for many years after his retirement, spending winters in Lakeland, FL.  He was also a board member of the Penncrest School District from 1969-1981.

He is survived by three children, William B. Bradshaw and his wife Vicki of Meadville, Christeen A. Bradshaw and her special friend, Kris Peterson of Meadville and James D. Bradshaw of Saudi Arabia; two grandchildren, Curtis J. Bradshaw and his wife Nichole and Adam C. Bradshaw and his wife Meggan; seven great grandchildren, Adia Rose, Lila Ann, Gideon Curtis, Mattie Louise, Isabelle Grace, Margaret Frances and Rosalyn Sky Bradshaw; a brother, Stanley Bradshaw and his wife Darlene; two brothers-in-law, William Waid of Meadville of Meadville and Robert Steiner of Blooming Valley; a sister-in-law, Doris Bradshaw of Erie and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Amy Bradshaw, Dorothy Hamilton, Ruth Wenzel and Susie Steiner and a brother, Clarence Bradshaw.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.  Additional calling hour will be Monday from 10-11 a.m. in the Barco Chapel of Wesbury United Methodist Community, 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Barco Chapel with the Rev. Sam Marchetta, Wesbury Chaplain, officiating.

Interment will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery
