G. Howard Sharrar

May 6, 1904 — January 1, 1753

G. Howard Sharrar, former Vernon Township supervisor, was pronounced dead on arrival at City Hospital late Friday afternoon.

The 73-year-old resident of Meadville had been ill for about three months.

Sharrar served as chairman of the board of supervisors for most of his two terms, the township maintenance building on McMath Road was constructed.  He also served as a member of the ad hoc committee investigating intergovernmental cooperation projects involving Meadville and West Mead Township.

Born in McCartney May 6, 1904, he was a son of William and Elizabeth Lunt Sharrar.  He married Dorothy Balt, July 31, 1934.  He was employed at Talon Division of Textron as a machinist for 26 years.  A member of Grace United Methodist Church, he also was a member of Masonic Lodge 408.

In addition to this wife, survivors include two sons, Lloyd Sharrar of Lincoln, NE and Donald Sharrar of Merrillville, IN; four sisters, two brothers and five grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
