G. Wilbur Gage, 96, formerly of Hunter Road, Meadville and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there, Sunday, August 03, 2003.
He was born in Randolph Twp., Crawford Co., March 28, 1907 a son of Jesse M. and Lela Bentley Gage. He married Thelma Buckley in 1963 and she survives.
He retired in 1972 from Talon as foreman in the Stores and Receiving Dept. after 35 years of service. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and a life member of Masonic Lodge #408 and Erie Consistory and an honorary life member and past Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge #219. He was a 1925 graduate of Meadville High School.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include: a step-daughter Lois Strang of Meadville; a sister, Louise Novak of Meadville; four step-grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandson and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Audrey Stainbrook, three brothers, Willis, Wayne and Homer Gage a step-grandson and a step-great grandson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Guys Mills.
