Dr. Gambetta F. Staff, 85, of Meadville, died Tuesday, July 1, 1958, at his home.
He was Crawford County's pioneer osteopath physician and had started practice to Meadville 58 years to the day before his death.
He had practiced up to the time he became ill June 13.
A son of Jules and Marceline Brigette Gackassin Staff, he was born in Meadville August 4, 1872. He attended Meadville schools and was graduated from International Business College here in 1889.
He was graduated from the American School of Osteopathy, Kirksville, MO in 1900.
Dr. Staff was married to the former Anna Gray Sigler. who died in 1931.
A member of Pennsylvania Osteopathic Assn. and the Ameircan Osteopathic Assn., he was honored by the state group in 1950 for 50 years of practice. He was a life member of the Elk's Lodge.
He is survived by a daughter, Miriam, wife of Carl W. Ullman of Youngstown, OH; two sisters, Miss Clementine M. Staff of Meadville and Mrs. Celena Todd of Lawrence, KA; a brother, Ben F. Staff of Meadville and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
