Gary E. Conrad

Gary E. Conrad, 71, of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at his home.

He was born February 10, 1948 in Meadville, a son of Clarence and Mildred Willis Conrad.  He married Pennie L. Swavey August 21, 1971 and she survives.

A 1966 graduate of Saegertown High School, Gary was drafted into military service where he served 4 years in the U.S Navy during the Vietnam War.

He worked for the Conneaut Lake Water Sewer Authority for many years.  He also drove school bus for Hubbard Bus Company for 30 years.

A member of St. Paul’s Reformed Church, Gary was an avid hunter and spent many seasons hunting with his sons and grandsons.  He was a Cleveland Browns fan and loved gun raffles.

Gary is survived by his wife Pennie of 48 years; his son Chad (Christi) Conrad of Cary, NC; his daughter-in-law Carey Conrad of Meadville; his step-daughter Lori (Frank) Yokeley of Stokesdale, NC; his five grandchildren, Caitlyn, CJ, and Calsey Conrad of Cary, NC and Cameron and Carleigh Conrad of Meadville; his four step-grandchildren, Jada, Robert, Michael and Joshua Yokeley of Stokesdale, NC; and his two sisters, Cathy Tweed and Debbie Conrad.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Corey Edward Conrad.

As per Gary’s wishes, there will be no services.

Memorials may be made to Common Grounds, 19473 Grotto Lane, Saegertown, PA 16433.
