Geneva S. Coutler

April 13, 1900 — April 8, 1985

Mrs. Geneva S. Coutler, 84, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since August 1980, formerly of Warren and Sheffield, widow of Robert M. Coutler, died Monday, April 8, 1985, at City Hospital following a brief illness.

She was born at Elders Ridge, Indiana County, April 13, 1900, a daughter of Samuel and A. Rearick Snyder.  She married Mr. Coulter on July 12, 1923, and he preceded her in death, April 1, 1983.

Mrs. Snyder had worked for 11 years as superintendent of the Ruth M. Smith Children's Home, Sheffield, and had also taught piano students.  She was an active volunteer at Grace Nursing Center at Wesbury United Methodist Community.  She was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church near Sheffield and had attended Bucknell University.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Isabel Books of Allison Park; two brothers, Wesley Snyder of Pittsburgh and Richard Snyder of Woodstock, NY; one niece and one nephew.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, John.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Warren County Memorial Park, Warren.
