George A. Ferrari, 73, of Guys Mills, died at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Erie Thursday, February 25, 1988, after a long illness.
He was born in Pittsburgh October 10, 1914, a son of George W. and Margaret Schneider Ferrari. He married Caroline Menchetti on April 6, 1946.
He was a spinner with the former American Viscose Corp. with 25 years of service. He also worked as a substitute rural mail carrier for 10 years. He previously was a foreman with Pittsburgh and West Virginia Railroad for 10 years. He was a member of St. Hippolyte's Roman Catholic Church, Frenchtown, a US Navy veteran of World War II, a life member of
West View Veterans of Foreign Wars post and a member of the Cooties of Pittsburgh.
Survivors include his wifel one son, George C. Ferrari of Guys Mills; four daughters, Catherine Ferrari of Erie, Mrs. Philip (Karen) Dillaman of Meadville, Mrs. Brian (Linda) Hewlett of Linesville and Mrs. Steven (Laura) Thompson of Atlanta, GA; and four grandchildren. A daughter, Regina and a brother, Johnnie, preceded him in death.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in St. Hippolyte Cemetery.
