George Andrew Egger, 82 of Jackson Center, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2024. George was the first born son of Andrew and Dorothy (Adams) Egger in Jackson Center, Pa. After graduating from Lakeview High School he married Linda Weaver on March 2, 1963, Linda preceded him in death. He worked for many years as a Chipper at Shenango, Inc. in Sharpsville.
George enjoyed hunting with his brothers in his younger years as well as coon hunting with his dog Nick. In his later years he enjoyed trap shooting, going to turkey shoots, and coyote hunting with friends and family.
George is survived by his son: Andrew (Elizabeth) Egger, grandson, Andrew W. Egger, siblings: Jim Jaskowak, Cheryl (Bob) Carlson, Jack (Karen) Egger, Marvin (Janey) Gatewood, Barbara (Dave) Wagner, Willie (Beverly) Gatewood, and David (Carol) Gatewood, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to Linda and his parents, George was preceded in death by his son, George Joseph Egger, step-father Dewitt Clinton Gatewood, siblings: Thomas Egger and Carolyn Lewis, and sister-in-law Pat Jaskowak.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose And Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro. Where visitation will be from 10 am – 12 pm on Thursday, May 16. A funeral service will follow at 12 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery.
