George B. (Bo) Dewey, Jr.

April 9, 1952 — November 14, 2012

George Benjamin (Bo) Dewey, Jr., 60, of Meadville, passed away at home Wednesday, November 14, 2012.

He was born April 9, 1952 in South Charleston, WV a son of George B. and Susan Scott Dewey Sr.

He worked as an aid at Wesbury United Methodist Community since 1979 and previously worked for Goodwill Industries in Oil City.  George attended the Home for Crippled Children (now The Children’s Institute of Pittsburgh), the Elwyn Institute near Philadelphia and Polk State School.  These schools gave him the skills, training and discipline to live in a group home and then on his own.  He was an avid lover of classic American cars and he studied the Presidents.  He also enjoyed oldies & big band music and had an interest in old radios, televisions and telephones.

He is survived by a sister, Isabel D. Seavey and her husband Fredrick of Warren, OH; three brothers, Scott M. Dewey, L. Henry Dewey and his wife Deborah and William M. Dewey all of Meadville; three nephews, Sinclair Adam Seavey and his wife Kathryn, Alexander M. Dewey and Ryan S. Dewey; three nieces, Katherine Seavey Sanford and her husband Jeff, Emily E. Dewey and Whitney S. Dewey and four great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The memorial service will be Saturday, November 24th at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty St., Meadville with the Rev. Dr. Brian K. Jensen, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Wesbury Foundation, 31 N. Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335 or the First Presbyterian Church 890 Liberty Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
