George E. Hutchings

George E. Hutchings, 70, of Hollis, NH, formerly of Meadville, died Thursday, May 15, 1980, at his home following a sudden illness.

He was born at Erie on October 3, 1909, a son of Lee and Emma Epp Hutchings.  He married Katherine M. Welsh on June 18, 1936.  She died December 30, 1976.

He graduated from Allegheny College in 1931 and retired as distribution manager for Talon Division of Textron, New York, in 1972 after 40 years of service with the company.  He was a member of Meadville Country Club and Meadville Elks.

He is survived by his mother of Erie; a son, Richard M. of Thousand Oaks, CA; three daughters, Mrs. Karl (Ann) Weiler of Buck Hill Falls, Mrs. T. Robert (Martha) of Valicenti of Hollis and Mrs. Barry (Mary Jo) Beswick of Nashua, NH; a brother, Robert of Erie; a niece, a nephew and nine grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in St. Brigid Cemetery.
