George Edwon Cole

July 2, 1873 — January 1, 1753

George Edwon Cole, 78, died at his home in Meadville, Thursday morning.

He had spent most of his life in Meadville, and for 22 years had been night watchman at Allegheny College.  Previously he had been employed for four years by the Traction Company, and also by the Erie Railroad Company as a steam fitter, and at the Malleable Iron Company works.

Mr. Cole was a member of Crawford Lodge 234, F. and A.M., of the Valley of New Castle Consistory and Stone Methodist Church.

He is survived by his widow, Edith Royce Cole, and these sons, Gordon, Richard, Edwin and Stanley of Meadville; Robert of San Diego, CA and Donald of Neville Island; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
