George J. Davis

George J. Davis, 84, of Meadville, died Sunday August 30, 1964, at City Hospital following a long illness.

He was born at Tionesta, Forest County, December 28, 1879, a son of Lee A. and Emma Butler Davis, and married the former Anna May Buzza June 15, 1889.

Mr. Davis was a member of Masonic Lodge 408 and Erie Scottish Rite Bodies.  He formerly was a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.  He worked for Talon, Inc., just before retiring.

Surviving, in addition to his widow, are six daughters, Mrs. Anna Mullins of Lansdowne, Mrs. William (Mildred) Rogers of Cincinnati, Mrs. H. A. (Eva) Teitelbaum of Ventnor, NJ, Mrs. John (Ruth) Zimmerman of Birmingham, MI, Miss Gloria Davis of Philadelphia and Mrs. Joseph (Shelia) Linz of Meadville; three sons, Richard G. Davis of Erie and William P. Davis, Sr. and Malcolm Davis, both of Meadville; a sister, Mrs Nell Curtis of Tionesta; and seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
