George J Egger, 55 of Stoneboro, passed away after a sudden and brief illness on January 13, 2024, in Traverse City, MI. George was born on November 17, 1968 and was the youngest son of George A and Linda J Weaver Egger in Grove City, PA.
After graduating from Lakeview High School in 1987, George furthered his education at Grove City College, earning a bachelor's degree in Accounting. After graduation, he worked as a technician in landfill construction. George’s career fostered the opportunity for him to travel the country and visit many states.
George took pride in his home. When not traveling he enjoyed sitting on his deck, watching the birds, and reading flower catalogs from cover to cover to plan out his next set of seedlings to plant. He appreciated the beauty of flowers and was always plotting a way to keep the deer away from his much-anticipated blossoms.
His love of nature was rooted in his family. George’s grandmother, Sadie, planted the love for birds and flowers deep in his heart. His Grandpa, Carl, helped him celebrate taking his first deer. George’s paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Clinton Gatewood, always enjoyed taking him and his brother on many fishing and camping trips. George always looked forward to hunting season with his father, brothers, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Left to cherish George’s memory are his father, George A Egger, his brother and sister-in-law, Andrew and Elizabeth (Adamson) Egger, of Erie, Pa. He also leaves behind his nephew Andrew and his large family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who he held near and dear to his heart.
George was preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother, and many aunts, uncles, and friends.
