George J. Klein

George J. Klein, 88, of Conneaut Lake died at home Saturday, June 2, 2012.

He was born May 23, 1924 in Pittsburgh a son of George J. and Elsie M. Bumer Klein.  He married Mary Lu Welsh August 15, 1947 and she preceded him in death May 8, 2010.

He graduated from high school in Florida and then enlisted in the Army serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II.  After the war he moved to Pittsburgh and worked for Duquesne Light retiring in the mid -1980’s as a lineman.  After his retirement he moved to Conneaut Lake and was a member of Linesville VFW Post #7842 and the Conneaut Lake Park Vol. Fire Dept.  He enjoyed fishing, loved playing golf and had a good time going to the clubs.

Survivors, include: a daughter, Deborah Golembiewski and her husband Joe of Conneaut Lake; a son, George Klein and his wife Grace of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Lisa Coll and her husband Jason of Pittsburgh, Ryan Klein and his wife Sonya of Pittsburgh, Jason Sakal and his wife Jessica of Meadville and Melissa Broman and her husband Michael of Conneaut Lake; three great grandchildren, Liam Coll, Karina Coll and Sophia Klein; a brother, Frank Klein of Atlanta, GA; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Welsh of Pittsburgh and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Klein.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Steve Anderson, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, officiating.

Interment with military honors will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
