George J. Vukovich

George J. (Babe) Vukovich, Sr., 86, of Blooming Valley died at home surrounded by his family Sunday, November 14, 2021 following a 2 year battle with cancer. He was born July 3, 1935 in Russellton, PA a son of George and Julia Popovich Vukovich. He married Audrey Mae Nageotte June 24, 1959 and she preceded him in death June 26, 2015. He attended New Richmond Schools and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving from 1958-1962. He started working at a young age on the George and Helen Tomer farm. They were like a 2nd family to him. He then worked for many years and retired from National Tel-Tronics where he was a maintenance mechanic. He enjoyed camping and cruising on his golf cart at Vacation Land in Sandy Lake, having a drink with his buddies at West Mead #2, lending a helping hand to anyone and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by three children, Vicki Brandley (fianc, Terry Graham) of Franklin, Lauri Woge of Blooming Valley and G. Joe Vukovich, Jr. (companion, Tami Urey) of Meadville; six grandchildren, Timothy Manross, Jr. (fianc, Megan Banks), Todd Manross (Randi), Kristy Manross, Jessica Vukovich (companion, Mike Yenny), Nicole Shuwerk and Ashley Steele (companion, Ira Alsdorf); eleven grandchildren, Hayley, Jayla, Layla, Erin, Brandon, Logan, Sam, Chloe, Max, Averie and Aiden; two brothers-in-law, Richard Nageotte of Painesville, OH and Frederick Nageotte (Diane) of Meadville and nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Traci A. Vukovich Meece; a sister, Francie Yocabet and her husband Joe; a sister-in-law, Lois Nageotte and his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Eva Popovich. A graveside service will be Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Blooming Valley Cemetery with military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006. The family would like to thank Dr. Landefeld, Dr. Han and the staff of Hospice of Crawford County for all their wonderful care.
