George L. Berly, 93, of Meadville, died Sunday, February 5, 1984, after an extended illness at United Methodist Home and Nursing Hospital, where he had been a patient since May 1983.
He was born at Guys Mills, June 24, 1890, a son of Leon and Mary Brunot Berly. He was married June 18, 1914, to Lena Medo, who survives.
He was employed as a livestock dealer and farmer at Frenchtown. He was a member of St. Agatha's Roman Catholic Church. He was a former director of GLF and former school director in Randolph Township. For many years he served on St. Hippolytes Cemetery Assoc.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Eleanor L. Berly and Mrs. John (Marjorie) Schroeder both of Meadville; two sons, Ernest G. and Bernard L. Berly both of Meadville; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Blanche) DeArment and Mrs. Marian Rosemond, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a brother, Edward A. Berly of Meadville; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by twin infant sons and a sister.
Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Agatha's Roman Catholic Church.
Interment was in St. Hippolyte Cemetery, Frenchtown.
