George L. Bowes

February 24, 1915 — January 1, 1753

George L. Bowes, 57, of Meadville, was dead on arrival at Meadville City Hospital, Saturday, December 30, 1972, after being stricken suddenly.

He was born at Townville, February 24, 1915, a son of George W. and Margeret Sayre Bowes.  He married Orma Wilcox August 25, 1937.  He was employed by Talon Division of Textron as a machinist and had sold real estate for the Tom Deloe agency.  He was a member of Grace Untied Methodist Church and of Lodge 110, International Assoc. of Machinist.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Daryl (Beverly) Lake of Townville and Mrs. G. William (Linda) Ebbert of North Madison, OH; a son, Leigh of Cambridge Spings; his mother, Margaret of Pheonix, AZ; four sisters, Mrs. Otis (Katherine) Durfee of Meadville, Mrs. Ray (Helen) Daniels of Venango, Mrs. Floyd (Grace) Shaw of Meadville and Mrs. Homer (Harriet) Johnson of Phoenix; a brother, Arthur W. Bowes of Meadville and 12 grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
