George L. Mckelvey

December 14, 1882 — April 14, 1965

George L. McKelvey, 82, of Meadville, died Wednesday, April 14, 1965, at City Hospital.

A son of David and Mary Murphy McKelvey, he was born December 14, 1882, at Spring Creek.

He was a tool and die maker for Talon, Inc., for more than 25 years.  Previously, he had worked as a postal worker at Corry.

Mr. McKelvey attended Stone Methodist Church.  He was a past master of Corry Masonic Lodge 365, past high priest of Corry Royal Arch Chapter and past commander of Corry Commandery, Knights of Templar.  He was a member of Local 110, Talon Tool and Diemakers Union.

He is survived by his widow, the former Grace Blaekslee; two daughters, Mrs. Herbert (Helen) Ey of Haverstown and Miss Jean McKelvey of Meadville; a son, David B. of East Brady and three grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry.
