George L. Mihailov, 83, of Meadville, and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there, Monday, July 22, 2013.
He was born in Guys Mills, October 17, 1929 a son of Eli and Marian Cvijeticaniu Mihailov. He was a graduate of Randolph High School and was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. Following his service in the military, he held several jobs over the years, working in Erie, Detroit, Washington, D.C., Beltsville and Silver Springs, MD and Grand Rapids, MI. He enjoyed hunting, music and mechanics. He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by two sisters, Ruby Mihailov of Meadville and Desta Stevens and her husband Rev. Maynard of Lindley, NY; a brother, Eli Mihailov and his wife Patricia of Guys Mills and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight sisters, Donna Fink, Mary Edna Mihailov, Anna Mihailov, Emily Mihailov, Sadie June Mihailov, Mildred Guthrie and infant sisters, Eva Mihailov and Olga Mihailov and four brothers, John Mihailov, Harry Mihailov, Milon Mihailov and an infant brother, Daniel Mihailov.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.
The funeral and committal service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Gerald Walton, Pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating with military honors provided by Huidekooper VFW Post #2006.
Interment will be in Radle Cemetery, Guys Mills.
