George P. Miller

February 4, 1877 — November 30, 1963

George P. Miller, 86, of Guys Mills, died Saturday, November 30, 1963, at City Hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Union Township, February 4, 1877, a son of John J. and Elizabeth Kahler Miller.  A retired farmer, he attended Franklin market for a number of years.  He specialized in vegetables and gladioli.  He was a member of Farmers Alliance and Industrial Union of Black Ash and Bradleytown Grange.

He first was married to Mary Irons.  On May 25, 1922, he married Maryn Phillips Bartells.

Surviving are his widow; six daughters, Mrs. Wallace (Genevieve) Jewett of Orwell, OH, Mrs. Clarence (Edythe) Black of Venango, Mrs. Evelyn Eastman of Erie, Mrs. Clarence (Mary) Turner of Meadville, Mrs. Kenneth (Katheryn) Goodberry of Port Credit, Ontario, and Mrs. Kenneth (Gail) Trace of Saegertown; two sons, Edgar and Floyd Miller of Windsor, OH; many foster children, including six at home; nineteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
