George R. Blair, Sr., 86 of Pardoe, Mercer, passed away on September 22, 2019 at his home. George was born in Sharon on April 13, 1933 to the late Mont Floyd and Elizabeth Collars Blair. He worked for Greenville Steel Car as well as running his own scrap metal business. George married his beloved wife, Anna Jean Smith Blair on July 22,1952, he preceded her in death on May 31, 2004. George was a hardworking man. He enjoyed scrapping metal and tinkering in his garage. George is survived by his children, George Blair Jr., and wife Sue of Grove City, Gary Blair and wife Kathleen on Jackson Center, Joey Blair of Grove City, Laurie Livengood and husband Robert of Pardoe, Beatrice Bonzer of Grove City, and Barbara Foringer and husband John of Clarks Mills. 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, a brother Jerry Blair, and a sister Anna Mae Burns. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a step-son, John Patterson, son Mont Blair, daughter Deborah Blair, 2 grandchildren, 2 sisters, and 1 brother. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Home of SANDY LAKE, 3236 S. Main Street, where family and friends are welcome from 12-2 pm on Wednesday, September 25.
