George W. Runnels, Jr.

February 12, 1911 — January 1, 1753

George W. Runnels, Jr. 62, of Meadville, was dead on arrival at City Hospital Wednesday evening, October 17, 1973, after suffering an apparent heart attack while bowling with his son at the Eagles Bowling Lanes.

Born in Dunkirk on February 12, 1911, he was a son of George W. and Cora Hardinger Runnels.  He married Evelyn Canfield on May 18, 1935.  Mr. Runnels was employed for 38 years by Talon Division of Textron, Inc., retiring on March 1, 1973, from the engineering department.  He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Talon Management Club and Meadville Eagles Lodge.

Survivors include his widow; a son, Richard G. of Meadville; an uncle Guy B. Runnels of Cambridge Springs and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Mill Village Cemetery, Erie County.
