Georgina L. Bugbee

Georgina L. “Peg” Bugbee, 95, of Meadville and formerly of Golfview Manor died Monday, July 13, 2009 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

She was born December 25, 1913 in Fredonia, NY a daughter of Merritt and Angeline MacCubbin Lamphear.  She married Dr. Robert E. Bugbee June 20, 1936 and she preceded him in death January 28, 1982.

She was a graduate of Fredonia Normal School (now State University of New York at Fredonia) and taught for a year in Springville, NY.  After raising her family, she taught third grade at Saegertown Elementary School in Saegertown, PA for several years and later substitute taught for the school district.

She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women.  She was a volunteer at the Meadville Medical Center and an active member of the YWCA.

Survivors, include: four daughters, Sandra Little of Saegertown, PA Angela Maitland and her husband John of Ashville, NY and Ormond Beach, FL, Janet Yoder of Meadville and Georgina Zee and her husband Stephen of Millsboro, DE; a son, Robert M. Bugbee and his wife Diane Clark of Jacksonville, FL; fourteen grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Janet E. Lamphear, a brother, John McAdams Lamphear and two sons-in-law, Robert H. Little and Arthur L. Yoder.

A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.  Memorials may be made to the Robert E. Bugbee Scholarship Fund at Allegheny College, 520 N. Main Street, Meadville, PA 16335.
