Gerald L. Smith, 67, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Saturday, December 4, 1976, after an illness of three months. He had been hospitalized six weeks.
He was born in Woodcock Township, May 29, 1909, a son of Francis Laverne and Alice Bell Clay Smith. He was a self-employed heating contractor.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Jean Sutton of Meadville and Mrs. Mary Henry of Meadville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Walter (Delores) Yoset of Saegertown; three sons, G. Sylvester of Meadville, Glenn S. of Saudi Arabia and Kenneth W. of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Anita) Hickernell of Greenville; a brother, Carl of Tionesta; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
