Gerald L. Unger

Gerald L. Unger, 62, of Hartstown, died Saturday, January 17, 2004 at the Erie Veterans Hospital, Erie, PA.

He was born September 8, 1941 in West Fallowfield Township, Crawford County the son of David M. and Marion Frances Blue Unger.  He married Kyong H. Kay September 12, 1979 in Korea.

He was a graduate of Jamestown High School in 1959.

He served in the US Army for 20 years with tours of duty in Korea, Vietnam and Germany.  He retired as a Staff Sergeant with the motor pool.  He was an Agent Organe victim of Vietnam.

After retirement from the Army, he worked for the Conneaut Lake Park for a number of years.

He was a member of Linesville VFW Post #7842 and Linesville American Legion Post #462.

He is survived by his wife, Kyong L. Unger of Hartstown; a brother, D. Gale Unger (Leora) of Atlantic and a sister, Laura Butcher (Tex) of Elyria, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held with the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home.
