Gerald Mason

August 17, 1894 — October 11, 1974

Gerald (Mickey) Mason, 80, who had resided at Jensen Beach, FL, since 1959, died at the United Methodist Nursing Hospital in Meadville early Friday morning, October 11, 1974. He and his wife were visiting Meadville last summer when he was admitted to the hospital. Born in Meadville on August 17, 1894, he was a son of Frank E. and Lotta Carr Mason. He married Hazel Irene Burger on October 20, 1915. Mr. Mason was employed as an electrician by Talon Division of Textron, Inc., before retiring in 1959. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Jensen Beach, the Walton-Eden Civic Club at Jensen Beach and a retired member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 504, Meadville. He served with Meadville's Company B of the Pennsylvania National Guard on the Mexican border with service in 1916. He was a piano player and for many years played at the Cussewago IOOF Lodge Hall on Saturday evenings. Survivors include his widow; two sons, Arthur E. of Meadville and Robert B. of Mercer Island, WA; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Foreman and Mrs. Fred C. (Jenny) DeVore, both of Meadville; several nieces and nephews; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
