Gerard E. Eppig, Jr., 35, of Pittsburgh died Saturday, May 20, 2017. He was born in Belleville, IL February 20, 1982 a son of Gerard E. Eppig, Sr. and Sherry P. Stockton.
He was a graduate of Linesville High School and attended Slippery Rock University. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force serving from 2002-2008 stationed at Nellis Air Force Base. After his service, he continued to work with classified military operations. He was an avid sports fan including Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and Duke basketball. He also was an avid reader, one of his favorite authors being John Grisham. His true love in life was spending time with his family and his two sons.
He is survived by his twin sons, Trevor and Trenton Maloney of Cochranton; his sister and best friend, Cassandra Stoll and her husband Mark of Conneaut Lake; his nieces, Isabella, Sophia, and Lillian Stoll; his girlfriend, Jennie Kolar of Crafton; his father, Gerard E. Eppig, Sr. of Virginia; five brothers, Roman Eppig, Cullin Eppig, Cory Eppig and Kyle Eppig all in Virginia, and James Stockton II of Meadville; an aunt, Margaret K. Barney and her husband Kevin of Monument, CO; his grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherry P. Stockton.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake with the service to follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Benjamin Travis, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.
Interment with military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006, will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
