Gertrude G. Baker, 90, of Hartstown, died Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at Meadville Medical Center.
Born in Algonquin, IL, March 31, 1911, she was a daughter of August William and Anna Krenz Klink. She married Martin Rice. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She worked as an operator of the former Meadville Telephone Co.
The oldest member of Hartstown Presbyterian Church, she was in its Hazlett Missionary Society. She was a charter member of the Hartstown VFD Aux., member of the West Fallowfield Election Board for many years and a member of the Knit-Wit Club.
She enjoyed canning, her flower garden and most of all her family.
Survivors, include two stepsons, Charles Baker of Jamestown and Pat Baker of Mt. Holly, NC; a sister, Loretta K. Rhodes of Conneaut Lake; two brothers, Earl R. Klink (Marian) of Hartstown and Kent S. Klink (Jean) of Conneaut Lake; two nieces; six nephews; sixteen great-nieces and great-nephews and a great-great-niece.
She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Herbert Gordon Klink.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Harmonsburg.
