Gertrude M. Fixel

Gertrude M. Fixel, 88, of Conneaut Lake, formerly of Meadville, died Wednesday, June 15, 1988, at Meadville Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Mrs. Fixel was born in Meadville, September 19, 1899, a daughter of Samuel and Emma Styer Rohleder.  She married Julian Fixel in 1918.  He preceded her in death in 1946.

She had been employed as an office secretary with the former Keystone View Co. and later with the former Erie Railroad.  She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ.  She was a member, past worthy matron and past district deputy of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. J. E. (Dorothy) Hanks of Meadville; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Albert Rohleder.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
