Gertrude Near

Miss Gertrude Near, 95, formerly of Clarion, died after an extended illness Monday, May 18, 1981 at United Methodist Home and Hospital, where she had resided since September 1961.

She was born at Clarion July 18, 1885, daughter of John and Deffie Reeder Near.  For most of her working life, she was a milliner in Clarion.  She was a member of First United Methodist Women group and a former member of Truth Seekers Bible Class.

Survivors include nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Clarion Cemetery.
