Gertrude Smallenberger

Miss Gertrude Smallenberger, 84, of Kerrtown, died Sunday, September 8, 1968, at home after a short illness.

She was born in Kerrtown on August 18, 1884, a daughter of Henry and Margaret Armburger Smallenberger.  Miss Smallenberger had been a teacher in the Meadville school system for 47 years up until her retirement in 1953.  She also taught at the school of naturalization in Meadville.  She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ and its women's guild, the Golden Crown Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Retired Teachers Assn.

Surviving are nieces and nephews.  Miss Smallenberger was the last survivor of a family of eight children.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
