Gladys C. Goodrich, 85, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died there, Saturday, May 30, 1998 following an extended illness.
She was born in Greenville, May 8, 1913, a daughter of the late George A. and Vinnie (Allen) Coutler. She married John M. (Jack) Goodrich, Jr., May 30, 1936. He preceded her in death August 15, 1987.
She was a 1930 graduate of Meadville High School and had worked at Talon for several years.
She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, member and past-president of its United Methodist Women and former member of council. She was also a member of the Meadville Medical Center, Aux., Elks Lodge Aux. and its scholarship committee, volunteer at Wesbury with the American Red Cross. She also served as a Judge of Elections and had a 55 plus year perfect voting record.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Robb (Thomas) of Scarsdale, NY; a son, John M. Goodrich, III (Paula) of Harrisburg; a brother, Chester Coutler of Tempe, AZ; eight grandchildren, Thomas Robb, Jr. of Odenton, MD, Timothy M. Robb and Andrew Robb of New York City, NY, Laura L. Gagliano of Hudson, FL, Lacey L. Goodrich, Matthew J. Goodrich, Bethany Goodrich and Luke M. Goodrich all of Harrisburg and one great-grandchild, Nicholas Gagliano.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wesley, Stanley, William Coutler and a sister, Marian Coutler.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
