Gladys Hansel Henry

March 23, 1906 — February 5, 1961

Mrs. Gladys Henry, of Meadville, a special education teacher of Crawford County orthopedic classes on Ryan Road, died at her home Sunday morning, February 5, 1961.  She came to Meadville from Ligoner in 1941.

She was born at Brownsfield, Fayette County, a daughter of John W. and Ethna Hansel, and was the widow of Dale Henry, who died June 6, 1960.

Mrs. Henry was a member of Stone Methodist Church where she was a former teacher in the church school and a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma education society, a past president of the council of exceptional children, a member of the PA Assn. for Retarded Children, a member of the PA State Education Assn., president of the Home Decorators Guild, and also was connected previously with the Junior Red Cross.

Survivors include a daughter, Miss Delores Henry of San Francisco, CA; a son, John H. of Meadville; a sister, Mrs. Lottie Mae Cochran of Uniontown; three brothers, Harold and Raymond of Uniontown and J. W. Hansel of Philadelphia; a half brother, William J. Hennessey of Pittsburgh; and two grandchildren, John Michael and Pamela.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Hansel Cemetery.
