Gladys S. Byham, 70, of Guys Mills, formerly of Beliot, OH, died at Spencer Hospital Thursday, January 3, 1985, after a period of failing health.
She was born at Beloit, June 28, 1914, a daughter of Guy and Edna King Stanley. She married Kenneth O. Byham July 15, 1939.
Mrs. Byham was a graduate of Kent State University and was an elementary school teacher for more than 40 years, retiring from West Branch School District of Mahoning County, OH. She was a member and former Sunday school superintendent for more than 20 years in the Junior Department of East Goshen Friends Church of Goshen Center, OH.
Survivors include her husband; two sisters, Mrs. John (Glenda) Yothers of Stone Mountain, GA and Mrs. Richard (Vita Ruth) LaJeune of Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Goshen Cemetery.
