Glenda Lee (Callahan) Kemm, 81 of Lake Twp, Mercer, passed away on December 31, 2022 at St. Pauls. Glenda was born in Greenville on March 16, 1941 to the late Glenn and Ruth (Cathcart) Callahan. She was a graduate of Jamestown High School in 1959, Edinboro University earning her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education, and Slippery Rock University earning her Masters degree. Glenda began teaching in 1968 at Fredonia Elementary School teaching 3rd grade. She then became a reading coordinator for Reynolds School District, retiring in 1999.
She joined PASR in 1999 and served as President, Secretary, Past President, and Member Benefits and Services Chairman at the region level. She was also the Chapters Leaders Commission Region 8 Representative and held various other positions. She was a recipient of the John Dillon award in 2007. She was also a member of the Northwest Pennsylvania Hereford Association and the Audubon Society, participating in many bird counts. She served on the Advisory Committee for Early Childhood Education at the Mercer County Career Center, and was a NOTI proctor there as well.
She married her beloved husband, William “Bill” Kemm on July 20, 1968. The two resided on a farm near Mercer until his passing on November 12, 2021.
Glenda is survived by her siblings; Robert W. (Linda) Callahan of Ashtabula, OH, William L. (Patricia) Callahan of Conneaut, OH, and Janet L. (Lance) Borden of Carlisle, PA, five nieces and nephews; Heather, Melinda, Katherine, Vernon, and Joshua, and eleven great-nieces and nephews; Fiona, Brendan, Julia, Noah, Ethen, Sammy, Lucas, Ayla, Makenna, Logan, and Hannah.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. 99 Franklin Street, Stoneboro. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 5 from 3 pm – 5pm and from 11 am – 12 pm on Friday, January 6. A funeral service will follow on Friday at 12 pm with Lance Borden, officiating.
Interment will take place in Shenango Valley Cemetery, Greenville.
