Glenn E. Peters, 70, of Meadville, died Monday, June 3, 1996, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie after a brief illness.
He was born in Meadville, October 28, 1925, a son of Francis and Dorothy Wiard Peters. He married Florence A. McKinley, March 18, 1973. She survives.
He was a 1943 graduate of Meadville High School.
He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Charles Stafford American Legion Post 111 and Harm Jan Huidekoper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006.
He had been employed at Westinghouse, Printz Co. and Singer-Heatrex, all of Meadville. He most recently worked as a newspaper carrier for the Meadville Tribune since October 1995.
He was a member of Stone Methodist Church and was a 50-year member of the church choir.
He was a well-known musician in the Meadville area as a drummer and most recently with his wife as a part of the Melo-Tones Duo. His other interests were the care and love of his dogs.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a stepson, Philip Post of Meadville; six step-grandchildren; twelve step-great-grandchildren and a sister, Mitylene Becker of Oklahoma City, OK.
He was preceded in death by an aunt, an uncle and several cousins.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
